Privacy Policy
Summary
Cladewright does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking, or a developer-operated network service. The app is designed to work offline.
Data stored on your device
Tree names, Newick or NEXUS source text, imported file names, display settings, trait rows, colors, notes, and modification dates are stored locally in the app's private container. This information is used only to provide the library, visualization, audit, persistence, and export features.
Files and pasted text
Cladewright reads a file only after you select it with Apple's document picker, or reads text you explicitly paste into the tree editor. The developer does not receive either source. Access to a selected external file ends when the import finishes.
Photos, location, camera, microphone, and contacts
Cladewright does not request access to Photos, precise location, the camera, microphone, contacts, Bluetooth, or health information.
Exports
When you choose an export, Cladewright creates the selected Newick, NEXUS, CSV, SVG, or PDF files and presents the standard iOS share sheet. The app does not transmit those files on its own. A destination you choose, such as Files or Mail, handles the exported information under that destination's privacy practices.
Data collection
The developer does not receive, collect, sell, or use tree projects from the app. Apple may process App Store purchase, crash, and diagnostic information under Apple's own policies and your device settings.
Deleting data
Delete individual projects in Tree Library, or delete Cladewright from the device to remove its local app container. Files you previously exported must be removed from their saved destinations separately.
Children
Cladewright is a technical education and research tool. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
